There are all kinds of ways and opportunities to create a difference in this world. We’ve chosen to make our contribution through sound and music.
Some children have learning difficulties and need some help if they are going to do well at school
and some children are doing just fine and their
parents want to give them the chance to do even
better.
And we’re the company that makes it possible.
Building on the experience and expertise of our founder, Jeff Moran, MindSounds provides a line of products that truly changes lives. MindSounds Auditory Programs are inexpensive, quick and easy to use, and most important – they’re proven effective through third-party research.
We invite you to find out more about Jeff, learn about our products, and contact us with your questions.
It wasn’t obvious at first, but by the time I was eleven, I began to really struggle in class. I had difficulty focusing when reading and nothing seemed to sink in, began doing poorly on tests, was disruptive in class and lost my self confidence and sense of self worth that I had gained through primary school. It was not a good time.
Somehow, I made it through school but with my self-esteem at such a low point, there was no question of my attending sixth form or college. Instead, at age 16 I started an apprenticeship in engineering with hands-on, tactile work, and minimal reading, the apprenticeship proved relatively easy.
At 22 I was made redundant from a large oil company that closed down and my engineering experience then took me to Africa.
The Monastery and Sound
It was in Africa and after some interesting experiences that I ended up spending time in a Buddhist monastery – and that, my friends, is where the idea for MindSounds was born.
In the monastery we used traditional instruments and did voice work. As I did, I immediately began to be able to focus and concentrate in ways I had never been able to before. Somehow, I understood that it was the frequency of the sounds that were providing this change. So coming from a left brain engineering background I made it my business to find out how and why it was happening.
Gathering information from many sources, I studied auditory learning methods including conversations, active listening, questions and debates. At this point I began using brainwave sound technology on myself and found it helped me focus and kept my brain charged – just a few minutes’ worth and I was good to go. I even managed to receive a diploma in financial management using sound to help me stay focused and improve my retention.
USA and Workshops
I then moved to the USA and continued to study sound with the experts in the field. Eventually I started to combine sound technology and natural sounds with music and created my first CD, “Into the Heart Zone” using digital sound, natural instruments, traditional sounds and voices.
At the same time I began doing sound and voice workshops throughout the USA learning and observing various peoples experiences with different frequencies and amplitudes and as such started to build up a database of effects using natural sound and frequencies delivered through various electronic and natural instruments.
Back to the UK
Once back in the UK I began researching the effects of sound on the brain at Liverpool University and saw firsthand the powerful cross-hemisphere results of specific natural sound upon the brain. The research in the lab showed that the sound stimulated and increased activity in both hemispheres of the brain and had a profound effect on brain wave states and the qualities of relaxation and concentration these states brought on.
At this point it was obvious that we had access to a technology that could bring about a multitude of positive effects within a wide range of users. So with a team of sound engineers began creating the CDs that would eventually become the MindSounds Auditory Program.
MindSounds itself took more than two years to develop and is the product of more than twenty years of research and experience in the field – and, I might add, well worth the investment as the results have often left me with tears of joy.
